Don’t Sleep On . . . Johnta Austin

Johntá Austin is a 26-year-old up-and-coming singer/songwriter on Jermaine Dupri’s So So Def Recordings. As a songwriter he was won two Grammy Awards. His first as a co-writer of Mariah Carey’s hit “We Belong Together” and his second as a co-writer of Mary J. Blige’s hit “Be Without You.”

Ocean Drive, his debut album is scheduled to be released November 6, 2007. Five album tracks have since been leaked online, the aforementioned Jermaine Dupri-featured track ” Turn It Up,” a Jazze Pha-produced track “Make Her The One,” “Joy,” another self-penned track “Dope Fiend,” and the newest single “Video,” featuring Unk.
