The Real Housewives of ATL Finale: Did You Watch?
There has been so much talk and controversy around this season of Bravo’s The Real Housewives of Atlanta. For the first time the series highlighted housewives of color. We have to admit we watched this season more closely than others — not only because African American women were featured but also because our home base is in Atlanta.
We were excited that after watching past seasons of the series, we could finally see women on the show who looked like us. This season has been truly a unique experience and can say it was nothing like we expected. But, what did you think of this season? Was this a good look for women of color and will you be tuning in for season two?

I sure did watch and everytime I see the show I fall more and more in love with Lisa. She is by far my favorite and I constantly ask myself, “What was Keith Sweat thinking when he let her go?” She’s beautiful, sexy, intelligent, great personality, a go-getter, business minded and is always playing mediator with these women. Which I often do with my friends and their issues. Edgerton Hartwell is a very lucky man.
NeNe is very, very, real, I love her as well. NeNe kind of reminds me of my mom because she told her son that this was the first and last vehicle she was going buy him and she wants him to be a strong black man. I’m kinda jealous an 18-year old gets a truck like that but NeNe’s heart is in the right place and even though shes going through some things with her absent father, she is still a great woman. DeShawn is another one that has her heart in the right place but just doesn’t have alot of business sense and needs to sit down with some other people that have foundations and learn a thing or two.
Sheree seems to be very stuck up and even though she’s fine, it’s somewhat of a turn off for me and Kim……..Kim, Kim, Kim…….NeNe hit the nail on the head when she told Kim to come and talk to her if she had an issue with what she heard NeNe said, not assume anything. Kim is just a trip all together, she seems to be on the bad side of all the girls and looks like a behind beating is brewing for her. I’m also glad Big Papa finally wised up and ended the relationship. Great show!!! I can’t wait for the reunion show and the DVD’s, if they come out.
Ooookaaaay! Well, all I have to say is that from the show, Lisa seems to be a very sweet, careing and genuine person. You could see that she did not have time for the drama, and in fact tried to help squash the drama between the other housewives. So, if she is upset, there is a very good reason for it!
First off I must say I love NeNe and Lisa, they have always been my favorite from the get go! They are both real and genuine and that is what’s portrayed in each and every episode and why I continued to watch. Keith, I dont even need to tell you what you lost, because you must be beating yourself in the head. They both have husbands whom are well rounded and committed to their woman. I hope I am so lucky to find someone that compliments me as much as they do to them.
As for Sheree and her charade of a clothing line…with no clothes (sidebar: NeNe’s gay friend is hilarious!! can’t get past his commentaries) she seems very artificial and Kim as well, not surprised her and “big papa” didnt last long…I will NOT be purchasing that that waste of a album..if you wanna call it that. Technology does wonders, and I wish her the best *side eye*
The new season…I will not be watching..lol, sorry but, I refuse! I dont care if thats where it originated from…I’m so looking forward to the full episode next Tuesday!

I watched it but based on the previews, the reunion show is the one to watch! I can’t wait.
I will admit that in the very beginning, I was drawn to Kim because I was simply fascinated by how she could just make a quick phone call and tell Big Poppa that she was buying a brand new tricked out Expedition straight off of the lot. But then I wised up and realized that she was nothing but a tone deaf, chain-smoking, lopsided lacefront wig wearing, childish golddigger. Seriously, how does one maintain that lifestyle with no job? I love Sheree’s confidence and I wish I were half the social butterfly that she is, but she seems very fake. I do wish her much success in her business venture. Lisa, DeShawn, and NeNe…LOVE them. I love how DeShawn and Lisa care so much about their men that they’re trying to prepare for their husband’s post-professional ball careers by going into business for themselves. DeShawn just needs to surround herself with savvy business people and she will be okay, because her heart was in the right place when it came to her fundraiser. Both women are doing what they have to do to maintain their lifestyles, and that’s good in my book. From what I saw yesterday, DeShawn and her husband were together since at least college before all the money, so it’s not like she doesn’t know what it’s like to be without.
NeNe’s the woman, hands down. I absolutely love her personality and she hasn’t been fake, not once. She spoke her mind all the time and kept it 100. She came across as brash, but she is very much a woman about hers. Her spirit is awesome, and in the end, Kim was left looking like a fool.
Nene’ and Lisa are my favorites and i’ve grown to like DeShawn from the first episode I did not care for her much with all that estate manager talk yada yada. But I honestly felt Nene last night because I went through a similar ordeal and it was very high school. If “grown folks” just sat their “grown” asses down and had some dialogue then alot of the world’s drama would not exist. I felt her and NO she shouldn’t change who she is to make others feel comfortable. I love lisa she is the kind of friend we all wished we had. Kim is childish…what was all that fighting for? because Nene said that she cant sing..well folks lets take a poll…she can’t sing! Sheree sheree sheree why does she smile so much at inappropiate times…why at parties when she is in conversation does she look around so much…is she scared of someone attacking her with a curling iron or does she fear her safety because she is a bitch lol. which one is it?
One thing about Deshawn. Why doesn’t she open her mouth when she talks? Is it her Veneers? I can’t stand to see her talk, cause it looks likes she is talking with her mouth closed aand thru her teeth. Am I the only one who saw that?
Well, I must say that it was indeed intresting to watch. The season wasnt long at all, it seems like. I feel like there was drama from the first aring, no? The dramam at the door with NeNe and Sheree wasnt even that deep. NeNe be wildin sometimes, i think she displayed the characteristics of the black woman nobody wants to be. NO disrespect to her, but you can look at Nene and tell she aint never had shit, you can tell she’s just living off of her older hubby and trying to reform herself into a Wealthy woman= Fake and lame. I mean, if u from the hood, and now u got a lil bit of cash, keep ur composure,dnt go running around as if this been ur life. we see str8 thru it, like cmon! As for the other, i totally love KIM, she’s mad laid back..chillen! Lisa is my fav, she’s a good woman, works hard for wat she has and would we all agree that she’s just absolutely adorable?? (and her hubby is a dime) Deshawn Snow was ok with me, drama free, well mannered, and a little bit too damn happy(if u ask me) but hey, i aint knocking her. And Sheree, overall, she was cool too. Fly, sassy and the type to avoid the drama, but if need be will handle watever is thrown her way. The season was iight, something to tune into on a Tuesday. However, i was curioous to know how they lived swn there, fashion wise, class wise, u know… wat we all wanna know!

I think this season was alright for starters. No, it wasn’t a good look for women of color but I will continue to watch next season because it’s like one of those 4 or 5 vehicle wrecks that’s off to the side of the road during rush hour traffic and you just HAVE to see if you yourself can figure out whose fault it was…. yeah. TRHOA Reunion tomorrow :-) Can’t wait!
