We have to thank our Music Editor Rif Raf for putting us on Electric Wire Hustle. Formed in 2006, EWH has already built a strong reputation for their live performance and have had the pleasure of sharing the stage with international artists Benji B and Steve Spacek, Alice Russel, Kid Koala and DJ Krush.

As their Myspace page states:

EWH has developed their own sound and twist on modern hip-hop, psychedelic and soul, the music of EWH reaches forward while referencing key points of music’s past. Thick drums and percussion layered with synth lines, hints of the Fender Rhodes and nylon stringed guitars have your neck snapping while your ears crane to its soulful vocals.”

We could agree more and because of that they have been added on high rotation on our iPods. Clutchettes – you gotta check them out and support.

OhMyDays!! I am now fully indoctrinated into the school of the EWH. They sound awesome! Thanks for turning me on to them!

Musically, this track sounds like a Tribe Called Quest production. Vocally, it has that Marvin Gay swagger. Real smooth. Me likes.

  • Good ear Pearls! Its a sample from A “Tribe Called Quest” Lyrics to go [i think] – which had an old Minnie Ripperton Sample “Inside my love”.
