Tyra Banks is pulling the plug on her talk show. The former model says the syndicated “The Tyra Show” will end after its fifth season. Banks says she’s sticking with the reality show “America’s Next Top Model” and is forming a new production studio with plans to make movies. She also promised new digital projects, but wouldn’t give details. In a statement on her website, Banks also paid tribute to talk-show queen Oprah Winfrey, who’s ending her talk show in 2011. Obama seeks to reassure U.S. after bombing attempt
President Obama emerged from Hawaiian seclusion on Monday to reassure the American public and quell gathering criticism as a branch of Al Qaeda claimed responsibility for the thwarted attack on an American passenger jet on Christmas Day. Mr. Obama vowed to track down “all who were involved” in helping a Nigerian man who tried to set off explosives aboard a Northwest Airlines flight as the plane approached Detroit, acknowledging the growing conclusion that the act was not that of a lone wolf but of a trained Qaeda operative. Tiger Woods is not the only one who blew big bucks with his image-busting cheating spree. His losses are chump change compared with the up to $12 billion that the scandal has cost shareholders of his big-money sponsors like Nike, AT&T and Gatorade, a study revealed Monday. “Total shareholder losses may exceed several decades’ worth of Tiger Woods’ personal endorsement income,” said study author Victor Stango, a professor at the University of California Davis.
