Black Leaders Too Critical of Obama?
The need for President Barack Obama to outline a specific agenda for blacks has been the center of much debate for the last month.
But some civil rights leaders say the president has already taken steps to remedy areas where blacks have suffered disproportionately compared to whites.
“To meet about black unemployment is a black agenda unless you feel the black unemployed don’t count,” Sharpton told theGrio, in reference to his meeting last month with President Barack Obama. “You can’t get a blacker agenda to me…” Several prominent black leaders and scholars gathered in Chicago recently, some of which criticized President Obama’s lack of outreach to African-Americans.
“[It's] a difference between being in the press box, being in the fancy suites at a football game and being down on the field,” said Marc Morial, president of the National Urban League. “And I think where I am, where Rev. Sharpton is, is down on the field helping to move the ball forward [for African-Americans].”

Baby girl born in backseat of taxi
De’asia Renee Patricia Smith was delivered by paramedics Saturday in the back of her father’s taxicab. Tanieka Vaughan said when her water broke at about 6 a.m., she told the father, William Smith, to get her to the hospital. But when Smith looked into the back seat and saw the baby’s head crowning, he pulled into a fire station. “I thought it was a movie,” Smith said. And according to Vaughan, the paramedics at first thought Smith was joking around.
“So when the man came out, he saw the baby was in my drawers,” she said. “The baby’s head was out, with the arm hanging out.”

Ochocinco, Nash Survive First ‘Dancing’ Outing
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Gold medal figure skater Evan Lysacek and Pussycat Dolls frontwoman Nicole Scherzinger emerged as early favorites on the new season of “Dancing With the Stars.”
Scherzinger earned the highest score during Monday’s premiere, 25 points out of 30, for a Viennese waltz that judge Bruno Tonioli called “a performance of sparkling finesse.” Lysacek’s waltz landed him in second place with 23 points.
