After much anticipation, a re-launch date for the former CW hit sitcom, “The Game”, has been set to re-air on BET in 2011. Word is BET has decided to disassociate themselves from “derogatory” (i.e. “Frankie and Neffe”) programming in favor of original scripted and unscripted programs, which will also include a dance competition series and sitcom produced by Queen Latifah’s Flavor Unit called “Let’s Stay Together.”
Clutch touched on this matter in October 2009, when cast member Drew Sidora told S2S Magazine that the canceled CW show may return to the small screen. However, after months of silence, many “Saber” fans began to wonder if they would see their favorite Sunbeams and respective players reprise their roles ever again.
There’s been no word as to cast or storyline adjustments in light of their extended hiatus, but for true “Game” fans, the mere acknowledgment of their return is satisfaction enough. And while BET’s taking a stab at resurrecting this Mara Brock Akil joint, would it kill them to consider giving “Girlfriend’s” a finale episode with Joan’s wedding, and Toni’s amicable return to LA?
Yes, I JUST knew it would come back! I just pray that the same cast members are there! I’m so stoked!

I’ll take the “Girlfriends” last episode over the season of “The Game”
since that will never happen, I’ll just take it
Looking forward to The Game returning to TV! Ditto on the Girlfriends’ season finale. I was just talking about this yesterday. Hopefully this will inspire BET (or any other station) to resurrect more Black shows (i.e. like Soul Food)!
Girlfriends will ALWAYS be ORIGINAL! I purchased all of the seasons and I watch them all the time;) Ahhhhh a breath of fresh air!

lol…I agree with the comments above! I wish they bring girlfriends back on the air or at least have a MOVIE for it so we know how it ends and give it a proper farewell but I will gladly watch re-runs if BET show them again.
I love the game too and glad to see that it is coming back but I heard that the guy who plays JASON won’t be on there because he is on another show on the USA network but he will pop in from time to time on the GAME.
Sidenote: am I the only one hoping that Melanie and Malik hook up or get together? Trust, I have watched the re-runs and I feel they have better chemistry on screen and seem more natural then her and Derwin (because I’ am so over their relationship) so hopefully BET brings the drama and the surprises
Coby Bell may not be back! He’ll be on Burn Notice on USA.
Not good because he is so funny.
whooohooo!
So glad! I hope they can get the original cast…
*diddy dance*
I was talking about this earlier….I love this show and you know what alot of black men like it too…ladies dont you remember when your bf, etc would groan and roll their eyes at girlfriends?? lol well atleast everyone can watch the game in harmony!!

Music to my ears!!!
Amen to the girlfriends request. i can’t believe they just cut it off like that w/o so much as some type of closure.
Well, I can’t say I’m that pleased w/ this show returning. I didn’t hate it…but I much preferred “Girlfriends” to “The Game”. Plus, I honestly feel like this show did Black people no favors.
Although Tasha was hilarious @ times, she also portrayed a stereotypical ‘angry Black woman’. And Malik was the stereotype of the average baller who drinks, beds tons of groupies and strippers and spends millions on jewelry.
Plus, whatever redeeming qualities the show had, I’m dubious that BET will salvage those or do justice to the original setting.
….
and Maya was the stereotypical loud, ghetto friend (especially in the first few seasons)
Toni was the stereotypical gold digger looking to screw the next millionaire (before she got married)
and Lynn was the stereotypical over-sexed woman who whored around a lot.
and Joan was the stereotypical overly emotional control freak, especially when it came to men.
Seriously, EVERY television show has some kind of stereotype. Even Kelly (jason pitts’ wife/ex wife- there needs to be a fourth season asap to find out how their marriage/divorce went!) was the stereotypical athlete’s white wife who catered to his every need.
Please come correct with another excuse because these “I don’t watch _____ because of the stereotype blah blah blah” is getting old.
Oh no, Why?I prefer Girlfriends to this mess of a show.
what da hail ar e talkin about here corny ass show.. thats is why they canceld it..tsss
