I hear what you are saying, but why does someone have to be dark and fat if they are saying- “Hey, you can’t pull the wool over my eyes. These women are not “natural” because both Kim and Joy are wearing weaves and Kim and has had plastic surgery.” ?? They are beautiful no doubt but let’s not praise them for things that are just not true.

I find it more disturbing that you are putting down other women in an attempt to prais others, and even more haunting that by your deductions “dark” women can’t be attractive?

I have dark skin and my hair is real but I am far from fat (vegan during warm months and vegetarian in the winter and I am a gym rat studying to be a yoga instructor). I find this attempt at “natural” beauty an utter fail.

If they asked Joy or Kim to pose without their weaves would they do it? I don’t know but I would respect them more.

What’s that supposed to mean? You’ve made quite a few comments like these on other articles. Are you going through Clutch and purposefully attacking darker skin women? I think you’re missing the point of this mag.

And before you decide that I must be one of those “dark, overweight” chicks. I’m not (I am rocking a full head of nappy hair, though).

Nowhere in my post did I say natural was equivalent to being dirty. That is obviously a deep seeded belief that you hold Tiffany. The entire point of my comment was that it doesn’t have to be a natural vs. glamour thing. Women are picked apart enough and its crazy to me that we as women are so quick to put a women down for the way in which she chooses to express her beauty. However, I respect your view. People interpret words in the way they chose and I have no control over the way you chose to interpret mine but stating that natural beauty is “dirty” was a tad bit offensive.

Fake hair skures me and I don’t need/wear a lot of makeup but, yep, Thinkpink.

It’s almost like it is a sin to some for a chick to be athletic and stay fit, tight, exercise and eat healthily and sensibly and haters incapable of appreciating the beauty of other women.

Far too often this kind of shade comes out the i-mouths (fingers) of those with features like Arie’s and/or are overweight as hell. They’ve all kinds of shiz to talk about the Beys, Rihs, Kardashian etc. yet are quick to throw hissy fits or demand understanding or sympathy if someone criticizes nappy hair, dark skin or obesity.

But seriously, there is a difference in being natural and being comfortable. If wearing make up makes you feel comfortable, fab. But it ain’t natural.

It’s very obnoxious when people assume that black girls are the only ones who wear extensions or that if a black girl has beautiful hair it must be fake. Kim wears them too and I commend both females. Its very easy to hate from afar but retouching or not these are two beautiful women who clearly work very hard to keep their bodies in shape. Last I checked we all need a little MAC to get out of the house in the morning too and I know I would be all over some retouching if a naked photo of me were going to be viewed by a million eyes. You look beautiful ladies. And I agree Akai about the fact that some girls who chose natural beauty hate on those of us who are all about the glamour. “Natural Beauty” is about portraying yourself in a way that makes you feel beautiful. It has nothing to do with whether or not you wear fake hair or MAC.

I’ve more than enough long, curly and thick hair so I know nothing about it and can’t say if Joy is rockin’ somebody else’s locks, fake tresses, rat hair, yak or what.

What I do know is she and Kim (lowlife nasty ass sex tape aside) are both extremely pretty. They don’t have on a pile of makeup or look like dudes, drag queens and clowns like La’Shaneequa from the ‘hood or those females on Flava of Love or For The Love of Ray J.

In my experience it’s always chicks with hair and facial features like India Arie’s that criticize and find fault with the Beyoncé-Rihanna-Alicia Keys-Thandiwe-Paul Patton-Joy Bryants-Zoë Saldaña-Kardashian etc. types.

Transparent!!!
