Model Amber Rose poses in the upcoming issue of YRB magazine and seems to be channeling a Marilyn Monroe-like look. Photographed by Mike Ruiz, these are easily Amber’s best pictures yet! Amber talks growing up poor, sexuality and how Kanye West saved her life. The south Philly chick dons an amazing set of dresses styled by Darius Baptist with intense eye makeup and red lips by Samuel Paul in this fascinating photo-homage to Monroe with an edgy spin. The model made a similar splash in February when she channeled Grace Jones.

She is beautiful… lose the wig
I really like this shoot, but I dont think she was planning on imitating Marilyn Monroe. When you say Marilyn Monroe it really takes away from the creativeness from the photo because people will compare it to Marilyn Monroe. I like the wig because it is something new for Amber Rose and not just a bald shoot. I give her props for branching out.

Why not say Amber Rose was channeling Amber Rose? Not everything is a throwback. Some things are a throwfoward. She’s pushing herself.

This look signals a Marylin Monroe look for me because of the wig. A loose wavy bleach blonde bob post 1950′s is arguably an aesthetic and iconographic echo of Marylin Monroe.
