Rihanna is all smiles on the cover of the August issue of Seventeen Magazine. The 22-year-old singer talks daring style gushing about her love for cat sunglasses, the Nike Blazer and the wonders ankle boots does for her legs. Rihanna says “The thrill in fashion for me is taking a risk and daring myself to make it work.” “The “Style Star” wears a series of summery looks accompanied by statement accessories and we’re gagging over those crafty nails!

I feel like she’s being true to her island roots with this shoot. No demons and koolaid hair. I like this. Them nails can take a rest though.
I definitely prefer her when she looks carefree and young like this rather than all half-nekkid and over the top. I have to say though, she does take a lot of chances with fashion and she’s one of the few people who can pull off some of the outfits she wears.

I like this fresh-faced look! It’s so bright and cheery.
I feel like ponning the river, whatever that means. But this is my favorite Rihanna. Fresh, sunny, beautiful. ….and not fearing that she’s take a machete to me.
I usually hate the Seventeen cover looks and the clothes they put the celebs in. The clothes look super cheap (like they came from Dots or something), however it looks like they spared Rihanna their frugality this time around.
What’s wrong with DOTS? Damn, must we all wear 100 dollar t-shirt everyday? Do you wear thousand dollar outfits everyday? Do you ask people how much their clothes cost? I love how Teen Vogue, Seventeen, Cosmo Girl, and others find cute stuff for under 50 dollars. I can have a billion dollars, and I’m still going wear whatever the hell I want. Well, until you rip me to shreads for not wearing a thousand dollar outfit.

DOTS clothing is cheap looking, and terrible quality, you don’t have to spend 100 on a T-Shirt to know that. You can easily get quality clothing at those same prices if you know how to show.
And Ri does look great, I like her edgy look as well but I’m glad she can switch it up, shoot it’s summer, it’s way too hot for all that black and leather.

I’m trying to be a Debbie downer here, but hasn’t Rihanna already been on the cover of Seventeen mag? I’m sick of white publications putting only certain types of black women on the cover. The light-skinned OVERLY FAMOUS types get the green light, but they are quick to put little miss white nobody on the cover in a New York minute.(Kristen Cavalari and Paris Hilton made the cover twice! WTF!?) Why didn’t Jennifer Hudson get a cover after all she went through? How about Fantasia or Kelly Rowland? I am so sick of this. No wonder black women are at each other’s throats like Tyra and Naomi. It’s these white magazines who makes tokens out of these black chicks, and we applaud it. I’d rather see Rihanna on the cover of SHE Caribbean, or Haute Africa than Seventeen. This is the last time I’m subscribing to that magazine.

I love her summer style! She looks a lot more friendly in brights. Im not gonna lie, when she’s dressed in those dark colors and dark eye makeup she looks intimidating so I hardly pay her no attention.

Wear what you want, not what they want you to wear. If I like it, I buy, the snobs would never have me looking like a hot mess! Rihanna always looks like a hot mess.
