Source Claims Chris Brown Used Eye Drops to Fake Tears at BET Awards

Thursday Jul 1, 2010 – by

According to US Magazine, an insider says Chris Brown’s tears during his Michael Jackson tribute at the BET Awards were fake.

US reports one of Brown’s bodyguards gave the singer tear-inducing eye drops. According to the source: “He rubbed it in and he started crying.”

A representative for the 21-year-old singer denies the claim stating the report is “completely untrue.” But US reports the witness insists Brown definitely used drops.

First singer Lloyd tells the world he told Chris Brown to cry and now this! It seems the world just won’t let Chris Brown be great.

What do you think about these reports? Do you think the tears were real or fake?

  1. I think the tears were real and I don’t know anything about nose drops b/c the snot I saw was real. People need to not try and dissect everything people do. The kid was emotional! Finally being able to perform to honor his idol (which is the best tribute to date), seeing his peers stand for him and happy to see him doing what he does best again and doing that last song also hit home b/c of his personal issues. Just let Chris Brown alone.

Clutch are you all SERIOUSLY quoting US Weekly???? C’mon! Please let this go. It’s past foolish at this point. Where were the tears during the ENTIRE performance then? The guy was choked up & couldn’t sing. He was snotting and everything. Jeez.. This ish is 100% comedy now. Everyone knows this young man’s heart and everybody is a damn psychic. What will the winning lottery numbers be? What is Chris Brown thinking at this very moment?

Another website (HollywoodLife.com) had a reporter backstage and saw Chris Brown before, during, and after his performance has verified that his tears were REAL and his bodyguard was nowhere in the vicinity of the artist during his performance. #anythingtokeephimfrommovingforward

@ TMJ I follow Hollywood Life on Twitter & they tweeted backstage deets during the awards. Never did they tweet anything like what US Weekly reports. Why wait a week later and put it in a magazine when you have the world’s biggest audience? Where are the PICTURES of him placing the drops in his eyes???? In this day of cam phones, pocket sized video cams, nobody snapped a pic of this????? Yeah. That’s what I thought. Stop it. Clutch should be ashamed of using an US Weekly source.

    • avatar Lauren says:

Are you serious?! US weekly is very reputable! Now The Enquirer…

Clutch u are fine…. You are here to report news and thats what you are doing.

  5. avatar Dede says:

I believe they were real tears. I truly do.

  6. avatar lisa says:

Who gives a fuck? Why do we care if this woman beater is crying for real over MJ?? We should be more concerned over the fact that he couldn’t shed a tear after beating Rihanna. He looked damn happy riding that jet ski.

    • avatar Lisa says:

      Exactly!
To me it really doesn’t matter whether they were real or fake. What troubles me is the fact we didn’t see this same emotion after he savagely beat Rihanna. I didn’t even see this emotion when he did his apology video either.

    • avatar Curls&Stilettos says:

      Thank you!

So now all of a sudden he’s the victim? We’re supposed to get up in arms and jump to his defense b/c someone says his tears aren’t real? Ha! I don’t give a crap if the tears came from his ducts, a bottle, a rain machine, or was a result of excessive sweat in his eye, they’re about a year too late on all counts. Next!

Eyedrops? Thats what I thought too.

This is so silly… Eye drops. Anyone with common sense would know this is false. Let it go ! Let the boy live. Although, this is the most attention Chris brown has received in a while. So, I guess it actually is good for him. I think he will be fine and his career will be fine. Rhianna though, if she does not stop talking about this and using it to her advantage to boost her career; I’m afraid she won’t have longevity. Every story goes away in time. Chris is very talented so he won’t be denied forever. Also, if you actually enjoy looking at someone suffer, rather it be in their career or personal life; you should seek some counseling because something is not right with you.

I don’t care what they were, real or fake. I just wanted to see a performance. Yes the dancing was amazing but what happened to the vocals. At the end of the day he’s an entertainer and I want to be ENTERTAINED!

save the breakdowns, real or fake, for the interviews

Haters gonna hate forever–and lie. Let Chris Brown live and get a life.

  11. avatar Jaz says:

Wow its so sad that people cant move on. Get over it things happen. People forget that once upon a time chris and rhianna were a happy couple and things happen in relationships should he have hit her no but life goes on and who are we to judge.

I think this is so pathetic. RIHANNA, can do as many bloody interviews as she likes since she was the one who got f*cked up. Her longevity seems to be doing relatively fine while Chris *cues tears* “People blackballing my sh*t”. Ummm, last I heard, RIHANNA (Not Rhianna or Rianna) has #1 hits and top 10 hits, 3 million sold worldwide while Crimin….. Chris cant even move one unit. I dont hate Chris but I dont feel sorry for his ass either. I watch people all over the “urban” blogs annihilate Rihanna for getting beat up and then doing interviews about her experience while Chris can do a million interviews and even promote his tired ass album on the interviews he was supposed to redeem himself on, but he was in the clear and she was wrong. Forget him and his tears. He can suck it. Yeah I said it.

From the teabaggers and Obama to Chris and Tiger the lesson is clear: if you want to rally hate stick a black man’s face on your issue.

    Awwwww, po’ wittle babee!

F*ck a teabagger as every single POTUS has taken/takes hits in the game of politics and President Obama is no different, doing just fine, and still highly respected at home and abroad. Anyone that entered the Oval Office behind Bush’s 8 years of f*ckups, a trumped up war, Wall Street run amuck, recession, high unemployment, home foreclosures and an economy in the toilet would have had a hard row to hoe. And, the President knew going in that the job would not be easy and that he’d make tough decisions many would disagree with, but he is a MAN (not a whiner) that never plays the victim.

Chris is a batterer, Tiger is a funny-looking loser that digs in the garbage to find sex partners, and President Obama is NEITHER of those things…so don’t include his name in your titty-baby pity party.

  15. avatar Brina says:

i just saw the awards last night for the first time and I will say this:

Chris did an excellent job with the dance portion of the MJ tribute…and that’s where it should’ve stopped. It seemed so forced to me that the harder he “cried”, the harder I laughed. It was no longer about MJ at the end and I felt like he turned it back to him begging for forgiveness rather than what he was up there for.

    just my .02

You might be able to fake tears, but you can’t fake the snot!
