Social Security sends early payments ahead of Earl
RALEIGH, N.C. — The Social Security Administration is delivering checks a day early to hundreds of thousands of East Coast residents to make sure the money beats Hurricane Earl’s arrival.

Apple TV, ‘Ping’ and iTunes — what it means
Computerworld – There were a lot of rumors and expectations ahead of Apple’s much-hyped music event yesterday. As expected, Apple unveiled a new touch-based iPod nano and an iPod Touch sporting the company’s A4 processor; super-high-resolution retina display; and front and rear cameras offering HD video recording and video chat via FaceTime. June 2011 trial set in Katrina shootings case
NEW ORLEANS (AP) – A trial for six current or former New Orleans police officers charged in deadly shootings on a bridge after Hurricane Katrina is scheduled to start next June.
At the request of defense attorneys, U.S. District Judge Kurt Engelhardt agreed Wednesday to postpone the start of the trial from Sept. 13 to June 13, 2011.
