Ron Isley Taps Lauryn Hill For New Single

Thursday Sep 9, 2010 – by

While we’re anticipating a possible new album from Lauryn Hill, she eases our waiting period by joining the legendary Ronald Isley on a new track for his upcoming album “Mr. I.”

The old school meets new school pair team up for a remake of Burt Bacharach’s classic “Closer To You.” The track is a melodic and soulful offering about getting closer to the one you love.

In a music world of talk about long chains, swag, and panty dropping, Ron Isley and Lauryn Hill’s “Closer To You” is right on time, and damn near necessary. Ron Isley gives his signature silky voice, while Lauryn reverberates—something like “Nothing Even Matters.”

We’re feeling this new slow jam! We have a feeling you will too. Happy Thursday friends!

  1. Lauryn Hill’s voice sounds so beautiful. This makes me excited about her upcoming cd. Personally, I don’t believe that Ron Isley needs to come out with anymore songs. His catalouge of songs is large enough, but I still enjoyed hearing his voice. I feel like it has been a long time since I’ve heard a slow jam. I had forgotten what it felt like to just sit still and get into the groove of a song.

at first I thought it was going to be too slow, but I love it! I kept listening to it last night.
