Amy, Amy, Amy! Here’s a collab we almost forgot about! A few months ago there was talk of a collaboration between our girl Amy Winehouse and British designer Fred Perry. I scratched my chin, not quite sure what design experience, or even personal style, Winehouse would be able to contribute to the legendary brand. After all, the most I’d seen her in at that point was tattered tank tops, itty bitty bras, ripped shorts, and flimsy ballet flats (that hung off the backs of her feet–at that). But now that the line has been released, we can say that Amy has done a great job!
Her 17-piece apparel and accessories collection includes classic mod-inspired designs that Fred Perry is know for, with a little added Winehouse flair. Gingham and argyle prints, a classic pencil skirt, cropped trench, fitted collared shirts, etc. According to a rep from the brand: “It’s Amy all over–sharp, clever, sexy, lots of attitude–but stays true to the Perry aesthetic and unrivaled heritage, and still remain instantly recognizable.” You can view the entire collection here. All I know is, now that this is out, Amy better get back in that studio and get to work–we miss you, girl!
What do you think of the collection?
