We all know Yeezy loves the spotlight, but recently, he took it to a whole other level: the friendly skies. On a November 5th flight from Minneapolis to New York City, Kanye jumped on the mic to offer his own unique brand of in-flight entertainment.
The 33-year-old rapper traded in his first-class digs to treat Delta Airlines passengers to an impromptu concert. Thirty minutes after take-off, West got on the intercom and proclaimed, “Yo, this your n***a, Kanye.” Subtle, right? With that, he let everyone know they were in for a truly unique flying experience.
The passengers were treated to a show. Kanye being Kanye couldn’t just say a few words and sit down, he had to perform. One passenger recounts, “He couldn’t decide if he wanted to do ‘The Good Life’ or ‘Gold Digger,’ so he was like, ‘I’ll just do a little bit of both.’ It was awesome . . . but I still have no idea how he got into the cockpit.”
Apparently, not everyone one was on board with West’s takeover of the cockpit. One passenger told the gossip site Hollywoodlife that a few passengers “freaked out” when they heard Yeezy’s voice booming through the speakers. But it all ended well when they realized it was Kanye West and not some random passenger who’d been sipping on too many bottles of tiny wine. One savvy passenger even caught it on tape.
I think Delta Air should change their slogan to, “Welcome To the Good Life.” What y’all think?
