The king of high-end couture fashion and lifestyle, Karl Lagerfeld, will design a collection for America’s favorite department store, Macy’s, according to WWD.

The reports say that Chanel’s Lagerfeld will design a capsule collection for the giant retailer, to be sold in 250 stores and online starting September 2011.

Lagerfeld’s line will be a part of Macy’s new designer series where designer lines will circulate in the Impulse section of the superstore every 2 months.

Other designers on board include: Kinder Agguguni, Vivienne Westwood, Paul Smith, Calvin Klein, Costume National, and Versace. Whoa!

The brand is known for other major collabs like Rachel Roy and Tommy Hilfiger, but nothing touches this new string of high-fashion designer brands.

With H&M and Target ruling the high-fashion collabo market, seems like no one will put Macy’s in a corner.

What do you think about the news? Sound off!

That picture is perfect. Uncle Karl is saying “Alright, alright. Pipe down peasants. Yes. I will make you clothes. Sheesh!” But, I’m excited.
