In honor of Black History Month, we seek to share with you some momentous occurrences for African-Americans in decades past and years remembered.

On this day, February 25th, in black history:

In 1948, civil rights leader and activist Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was ordained as a Baptist minister.

In 1903, Albany State University, a historically black college, is founded in Albany, Georgia.

In 1964, Muhammad Ali, a man that is considered one of the greatest heavyweight championship boxers, defeated Sonny Liston for his title.
