We were intrigued but not surprised when Serena Williams announced she wanted to be a manicurist and was penning a nail polish collection for OPI. After all, the reigning Wimbledon champ makes as many headlines for her winning talent as she does for her outfits on the court.
Her latest collection, Glam Slam! France, is fittingly romantic and artsy. She offers two new shatter polishes in red and white that crackle when applied to the nails for a painterly look.
The white shatter is sold in a duo pack with Spark de Triomphe, named after the famous monument in Paris, which is a glamorous silver glitter. Red is paired with Rally Pretty Pink, a shimmering sunset pink color.
“In addition to watching the runways for the latest trends, I think it’s important to add my own unique elements,” Serena Williams said of her design process. “With the new White and Red Shatter, I can customize my nails for a high-fashion take on the classically elegant silver and sunset shades in the Glam Slam! France collection.”
The duo packs retail for $14.95 and will be available beginning in May 2011 at Ulta, JCPenney’s, Dillard’s and professional salons.
