“Runaway fast as you can.”

Kanye apparently had to follow his own advice last week in Paris when he was held at the door from the shows of two high-profile design houses.

The rapper and fashion enthusiast was turned away from the Balmain runway show at Le Grand Hotel last Thursday. After being denied entry, the rapper and his entourage heading off to a different part of the hotel to avoid being seen.

Not one to take rejection lightly, Kanye attempted getting in off his celeb status the following week for Tuesday’s Alexander McQueen show. After what we can only imagine was an entertaining back and forth, KCD (the organizers for the Balmain, Alexander McQueen and Louis Vuitton shows) eventually let Mr. West in the building.  He reportedly repeated the scene again at Louis Vuitton’s show as well.

The organizers were not too pleased about it though, with their reps telling New York Post’s Page Six that:

West was eventually let in through a side entrance by “venue management, not through the front door.”

Many show organizers have apparently been fed up with celebs using their fame to waltz into shows they have not been invited to. But a KCD’s official statement read quite cordially:

Kanye has been a welcome guest at several events that KCD has managed over the years. Several designers chose to have smaller shows this season and therefore chose to not invite celebs in order to accommodate press and buyers.

Hm. Even after collaborating with high-fashion and getting chummy with the industry crowd- is Yeezy Louis Vuitton Don no more?

If he is a major buyer. hell yeah. If not, hell no.NEXT.

Kanye’s behavior is just so rude and arrogant it makes me twitch. There were people more important (more… everything than Kanye) that actually needed to be there. And guess what? They needed an invite. But King K thinks he can simply walk in at the last possible moment. With his posse. And get in. That’s not how it works in any industry, hon.

If he is interesting in a career in fashion, which I definitely think he is, he needs to learn humility. Seriously, “one does not simply walk into Mordor.” I’m glad they gave him the side door treatment.

  • @AfricanMami: i agree with tomi. there are a LOT of extra regular ass people walking around with money that are probably regular buyers of Balmain and McQueen, and they can’t ALL get in. plus. how often have you actually seen Kanye in anything Balmain or McQueen? the spots that arent there for industry insiders nd instead are for celebrities are for the stars that actually generate press for the line- like renee zellwegger and carolina herrera, for example. yeezy was just taking up space.

I think when they mentioned “buyers” they meant people who were in charge of buying these clothes for department stores, like Nordstroms etc. But I love Kanye to death..but he def needs to learn humility like yall said.
