The buzz over VH1’s newest reality show “Love & Hip-Hop” has been major. For the past few months, we’ve been waiting to see how the other halves–hip-hop’s ladies–live. Although the series does not officially premiere for another week, VH1 has leaked the first episode and boy is it a doozy.

Watching the ladies go through relationship and career issues, one thing kept echoing in my head: Why would anyone stay with a man who does not claim her?

On the first episode Emily, Fabolous’ long-time girlfriend and the mother of his child, is frustrated that she can’t get Loso to commit. Instead of being on his arm for the industry events she dresses him for (she’s also his stylist), apparently Fab parties solo and doesn’t even  let it be known he’s boo’d up. Even though Emily is hurt by Fab’s unwillingness to claim her, she said that he will never leave her because she is his “family.” Hmm…ok. Maybe Mashonda can school her on how quickly things can fall apart.

Although these ladies clearly have issues, the sneak peak definitely has been wanting to see more. My only issue with the show is that I just wish these sisters would get it together. Hanging on to a man who won’t claim you or meet your emotional needs–despite knowing exactly how you feel–cannot be a healthy.

Peep the first episode of “Love & Hip-Hop” and share your thoughts!

So what is it Clutchettes and Gents? Would you stay with a partner who refuses to claim you?

There can be many different reasons. Listed below are some. Some women may stay with “cheaters” for one or more of the following reasons.

1.They really believe in their marriage vows, “for better or for worst”

    2. They are still in love with the person.

    3. They can’t stand the thought of being alone.

    4. They think if they don’t then the ow would’ve won by “stealing” their man.

    5. They don’t think that they can do any better.

    6. They are financially dependent on their husbands.

    7. They stay for the kids sake.

Well, those are some I can think of. Hope this helps.
