Like the LBD (little black dress) or a classic white blouse, fashionistas need a good party dress in their wardrobe ergo no need to look further than budding Chicago based designer, Laurie Underwood of Wanda Grace.

To paint a picture, Underwood’s Wanda Grace first debuted in 2008 full of body conscious dresses – her staple – and has since blossomed into a full ready-to-wear collection including: tops, bottoms and jackets.  Yet her 2011 collection is what grabbed our eye.

Reminiscent of Patricia Field’s designs from Sex and the City fame, the brightly hued, playful line features a multicolored one-shoulder polka dot dress, plenty of vibrant eye-gazing minis and a bounty of cinched waists.

From the flirty to the formal, Underwood’s Wanda Grace deserves an invite to the party of today’s contemporary fashion designers – her collection’s just too hard to resist!
