We all know that sex sells and there is nothing wrong with a woman who owns her sexuality and even pushes the envelope. I am not talking about the Janet Jackson Superbowl type of envelope-pushing, but perhaps a choice that is a little less risqué in terms of fashion. The no-pants trend has virtually taken over the fashion industry and most are prescribing to it (and it’s spilling over into clubs!), making us wonder if baring it all is sexy or just tasteless.
Jennifer Lopez stopped by ‘106 & Park’ and her fashion choice was a Hakaan Spring 2011 ivory custom mini dress with cutout detailing in some very interesting places. The wrong move might have put her famous backside on display and though I love Jennifer’s fashion sense and she really looks nothing less than amazing after having two children, I have to wonder if her choice of ensemble was just a little too provocative.
Mashonda and actress Maya Gilbert also bared it all in recent looks. Mashonda chose a sequin dress with a plunging neckline and sheer sides, clearly showing her lack of undergarments. Maya went for a pink one-shoulder gown with a slit that cannot even be classified as thigh-high and a completely exposed back.
Again, both cases like Jennifer Lopez of both women looking beautiful, but taking it to the next level in terms of sexiness. Is it really that sexy and alluring when nothing is left to the imagination?
Would you bare it all in the name of fashion? Is less really more or should a woman never fear being too sexy? Will these provocative looks ever go out of style or will skin always be in?
