Apparently, Beyonce wasn’t as happy about the leaks of her new album as many of her fans.

After the entire album hit the ‘net earlier this week, Bey took to Facebook to express her disappointment (and perhaps do a little damage control when the new album isn’t a smash success? #JustSaying).

Bey lamented:

My music was leaked and while this is not how I wanted to present my new songs, I appreciate the positive response from my fans. When I record music I always think about my fans singing every note and dancing to every beat. I make music to make people happy and I appreciate that everyone has been so anxious to hear my new songs.

Beyonce’s new album, 4, will be in stores on June 28th.

Have you already heard Beyonce’s new album? What did you think? Will you be picking it up on the 28th?

I really like “4”, and I’m not even a Beyonce fan. It’s a chill, 90’s throwback R&B album, and is exactly what everyone wanted her to create. As for the leaks of the first single and now the album? I think it was a publicity stunt that backfired on her. Run the World leaked a few weeks after Gaga’s single leaked, but it never took off the way Born This Way or Judas did. Now the album has leaked, but the buzz is largely meh, since a great majority of people were expecting another pop album, and Beyonce has to save face. This situation is incredibly similar to what Xtina faced last year (except without the massive and outrageous hatred from the media), and now that Bey doesn’t have Mathew in her corner, I wonder if she can turn this all around.

    I agree with Gigi.
Not a Beyonce fan – but I do respect how hardworking she is. I think she is a terrific singer.
P.S. Music execs are now discovering the power of the net and are leaking albums to gauge public interest to see how well the artist will survive in a digital age.

Not everyone downloads without purchasing. Millions of people around the world flood iTunes and amazon.com (along with other online retailers) to buy tracks from their favourite artists.

Sure – the CD isn’t as popular. But don’t let anyone tell you the music industry is hurting. It isn’t.

P.S. Yes – I listened to the entire album. She’s not a very good craftsperson or songwriter. I’m waiting for her to do something important and sing about something OTHER than love and lost love. Every album it’s the same damn thing.

I saw a link to download it but chose not to. I’ll wait to see what download deal Amazon MP3 has on album release day. Gotta support music that you enjoy. I’m not a huge Beyonce fan, but I can spare a few bucks to listen to her music.
