Denzel’s Latest Role Takes “Flight”

by Sky Obercam

Word is that Denzel Washington has just been slated to star in his first collaboration with director by Robert Zemeckis (Back to the Future trilogy, Forrest Gump, Contact) titled Flight. Denzel will portray a commercial airline pilot who lands a damaged jet and saves the lives of 98 of its 106 passengers. Consequently, the pilot struggles with his label of “hero” as well as the guilt for his own role in the tragic accident.

But bona fide fans don’t have to wait for Flight to get their Denzel-fix. Come February 10 of next year, Washington co-stars with Ryan Reynolds in the action-thriller Safe House. The 56-year-old Hollywood veteran will play a criminal who must be transported by a CIA agent after coming under attack at a safe house in South America.
