While living up to the name of the new book he’s promoting, Here Comes Trouble, Michael Moore made what’s turned out to be a controversial statement about the killing of Osama Bin Laden. Moore said he believed Bin Laden was in fact executed, and that consequently, America had “lost something of our soul” for not putting him to trial instead.
A heated debate ensued once Elizabeth Hasselback came to “the rescue” on behalf of the Obama Admisitration, exclaiming the US was just in carrying out the assassination and that our rights should not be extended to any terrorist.
Moore continued to say “My point is that the way we show the world that we’re different is that we give even the most heinous person their day in court… If we start to say that we’re afraid to hold trials because terrorists might hurt us, we look like a bunch of wusses.”
