A former speechwriter for President Obama is working on a NBC pilot for a sitcom that follows a dysfunctional First Family. Jon Lovett, who helped write the POTUS’ hilarious 2011 White House Correspondents Dinner speech poking fun at ‘Birthers’ and Donald Trump, left the administration for Hollywood early this summer. He is working with director Jason Winer of “Modern Family” to create “1600 Penn”. Though some sites have reported that the Obama family will serve as some inspiration for the show, neither Lovett nor NBC have confirmed this. There is also no word as to whether the show will be following a Black family in the Oval Office. While the premise sounds promising, it’s hard for us to think of anything Obama-related as “dysfunctional”. Stay tuned!
