According to The Hollywood Reporter, Lady Gaga and longtime creative director and Ms. Boom-Kat, Laurieann Gibson have decided to split.
The two have reportedly been bumping heads for a while now, and some say that Gibson’s ego has gotten out of hand since she’s been staring in her own reality show projects.
One of the major riffs between Gaga and Gibson happened over the ‘Judas’ video. Apparently, Gibson wasn’t feeling the creative direction of the video, which she felt was disrespectful to the Bible. She told reporters: “At one point, there was two completely different views and after the third glass of wine, I was like, ‘Listen, I don’t want lightning to strike me. I believe in the Gospel and I’m not going there.’” Gibson added that she would have walked away from filming without a conceptual compromise.”
Despite the difference, the two continued to work together, but resumed bumping heads. After the original treatment for Gaga’s “Edge of Glory” video was scrapped and another video released, Gibson replied to a critical fan tweeting, “listen u disrespectful f**k they had an issue on set I don’t lie!!!!!” and “creative Changes happen always educate ignorant Monster’s!!!”
Gibson’s former assistant, Richard Jackson, is now taking over choreography duties for Lady Gaga.
