I’m all for designer shoes, bags, and clothes…but condoms?
In honor of this year’s World Aids Day, Irakli Kiziria, an architect from Georgia Republic, designed a high-end Louis Vuitton condom (without the company’s permission), and amazingly, he hasn’t been sued yet. Wrapped in the luxury brand’s signature brown covering and embossed with the iconic “LV” logo, the couture condoms are priced at $68 each. EACH!
According to the official website, Kiziria “proposed a launch for the product on World Aids Day, as part of the Louis Vuitton’s work with amfAr (The foundation for AIDS Research),” but it’s not clear whether or not they’re actually available for sale just yet. Although it’s been causing quite a buzz on the internet, I’m not sure people will actually pay $68 for one condom, just to toss it out after it’s used.
Considering that the same $68 price tag can buy you a few boxes of Trojans, this seems very excessive. But who knows. If Kanye starts calling himself the “Louis Vuitton Condom Don,” Kiziria might just have a hit.
Would you pay $68 for a Louis Vuitton condom?
