Okay, the holiday season is officially over. Glitter and sequins are totally optional now. You may want a more low-key approach to makeup for the rest of winter and would like to give color a break. Consider wearing a more soft, see-through palette that one may find in a water color painting on the eyes, lips and cheeks. The hues can vary from dove grays, industrial mints to berry stains providing sheer to medium coverage.
There a couple of products that can create the perfect water color theme. Urban Decay Naked Palette 2 is an excellent must-have that boasts 12 neutral shadows, a dual-ended brush and a free gloss! It currently compliments the understated post-holiday makeup mood, however, this palette can be worn all year round.
The new Daphne Guinness for M.A.C Interior Life eyeshadow palette is another great choice. This palette has cooler mauve, plum and soot matte/satin textured tones.
For the cheeks, Azalea Blossom and Vintage Grape M.A.C Blush Ombrés are basically water color for the cheeks! Everyone needs some ombré color in their life!
Lips can range from a deeper “stained” burgundy color to light, petal-like hues. Nars Nana Lipgloss for the “bitten” lip and Laura Mercier Nude Lilac Lip Glacé are great options.
