Too Funny: Fotoshop by Adobé

Wednesday Jan 11, 2012 – by

Need to adjust your hair color, body type, ten years of sun damage or your race? Try Fotoshop by Adobé! No, not Photoshop, the program that’s allowed folks to engage in some major denial and misrepresentation of their looks, I said Fotoshop. Watch this brilliant piece of social commentary, so poignant that it made me seriously wonder how many people tell themselves that they’ll just Photoshop out any imperfections in photo’s while they’re in the process of posing for them as if the program weren’t much more than a new tube of lipstick.

This fake as is so close to real that you’d swear the voiceover lady moonlights for L’Oreal. Yet creator Jesse Rosten posts his work with the explanation: “this commercial isn’t real, neither are society’s standards of beauty.”

WEAK @ “Maybe she’s born with it….. naahhh I’m pretty sure it’s fotoshop” haha.
But on a serious note this photo editing has gone to far. A lot of women do feel like they have to live up to what they see in the media and its an impossible ideal.

I love it! Funny and sad at the same time, these “ideal” images the media projects. What’s crazy is that Photoshop used to be exclusive to photographers, but now anyone can buy the package and use it. Everyone can be ‘not themselves’ if they want.

very good commentary on a widespread issue

Well written article, well done! I loved it!
