Donald Trump and Mitt RomneyProfessional hype man and millionaire, Donald Trump, endorsed Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney today in Las Vegas. In a joint press conference, “the Donald” told the crowd, “Our country is in serious, serious trouble.” He went on to say that other countries “laugh” at America and because of this, he is endorsing Mitt Romney for president.

During the announcement, Trump praised Romney, calling him “tough, smart, sharp,” and telling the crowd, “He’s not going to allow bad things to happen to this country.”

Last year, Trump toyed with the idea of running for President, gaining popularity from Tea Partiers for his campaign to get the President to produce his birth certificate. Although he was never going to run for office (it would cut into his profits), Trump continued to claim he might throw his hat in the ring if a suitable Republican candidate wasn’t found. After several months, it looks like he’s settled on Romney.

Trump’s endorsement of Mitt Romney comes just a day after the former governor told CNN that he “isn’t concerned about the very poor,” which was roundly criticized by both liberals and conservatives (he was even criticized by Rush Limbaugh) for seeming out of touch with average Americans.

I guess today’s endorsement means we won’t have to hear about Trump entering the race, but will it actually help Mitt Romney?

What do you think?

The man has an obvious disconnect with middle class America and even a greater disconnect with the poor. He seem to piss off the whole country in just a couple of sentences. Along with his comments yesterday, news also came out that Romney’s Super Pac had 200 donors who in total contributed 18 million dollars to his campaign. They were able to raise the money in a mere six months.

The guy is only interested in serving the rich, and when you have guys like Donald Trump and the Kochs endorsing him, with William Koch in particular donating one million dollars to Romney, you can easily see what Romney’s stance is. I would respect him a hell of a lot more if he just come out and say it rather then pussyfoot around what we already know. He only cares about the top 1 percent of the American population, but will patronize the middle class for votes. Not to say that is not the end game for a lot of politicians, but he is horrible at hiding it.

To answer the question, Donald Trump endorsing Romney has only weaken his chances at winning. Not that I am complaining.

It’s looking real bad for Mitt Romney right now. First his religious affiliation rubs people the wrong way, then his comments about the poor and now this…

Someone needs to get out a stool and tell Trump to sit on it, and not move until he’s relevant again. It’s almost funny that Romney got pulled into one of his publicity stunts.

Otherwise, it doesn’t look good. As my husband said after they started releasing tax returns, “Mitt Romney makes too much money to be my president”– and having been endorsed by Trump does not help that sentiment.

The day after Mittens admits he’s not concerned about the poor, he accepts Donald Trump’s endorsement. Does Mittens not have any advisers?

Why is it news who Donald Trump endorses? Why is he even a factor? Who cares…
