The ironic thing about conspiracy theories and paranoia is that somehow, they are two sides of the same coin. A conspiracy is defined as a combination of persons for a secret, unlawful, or evil purpose. Paranoia is an extreme irrational distrust of others. When you live in a world where almost anything is fathomable, it’s difficult for certain people to draw the line between the two.
Below is a list of alternative hypotheses that offer and explanations for well-known events and phenomenon:
September 11th: Speculation continues to surround the tragic events of September 11, 2001. Many have suspected the Bush Administration, in conjunction with Israeli participation, for the atrocities. In addition, a number of hypotheses have been made in regards to the manner in which the WTC buildings collapsed and the “suspect” Pentagon wreckage site that contradict official reports.
New Orleans Was No Accident: The fact that Black folks were disproportionately effected by the damage caused by Hurricane Katrina, multiple reports that the levees in the 9th Ward were bombed, the delay (and possible prevention) of governmental assistance, and much more, cause many to wonder if the heartbreaking events brought on by the hurricane were a part of a plan to “whiten” New Orleans.
Area 51: The government initially reported that it was a saucer that crashed on a remote ranch outside of Roswell, NM in 1947, then retracted the statement, claiming it was a weather balloon that smashed into the ranch. Alternately, there are those who insist that Area 51 it was a Cold War Era spying program.
New World Order: NWO refers to the worldwide conspiracy that seeks result in the breakdown of individual cultures, currencies, and territorial boundaries to in effect create “one world,” one government, and a drastically reduced global population.
AIDS is Man Made: For many years now, people have suspected that AIDS is a man-made epidemic with a genetically engineered virus, which was deliberately introduced into very specific cultures for population control purposes.
The Apollo Moon Landing Hoax: There are those who still insist that the Apollo Moon Landings never took place, and were faked by NASA with the help of the CIA.
The Iraq War (for Oil): The jury’s still out on this one – so to speak. Rumors persist that 9/11 was orchestrated to justify a war in Iraq in order to redistribute the resources of the Middle East – including black gold. Several reports from people on the ground in Iraq lend to the suspicion as well.
Swine Flu is Man Made: Another attempt at population control perhaps? During the peak of the Swine Flu pandemic, many feared that this deadly bug was also the result of genetic engineering, and that the vaccine developed to treat it was just as deadly as the infection itself.
What of the Illuminati stuff? Need to add that to the list as well.
true dat!!!
It’s not a conspiracy it’s real life dot com
I believe all of that… I’m very cynical of this greedy world and I have every right to be, as history has showed us.
Most if not all is true. Research people !
They have never shown a man on the moon again to our generation..thats what makes it spooky to me…
And they never showed video of an actual plane crashing into the Pentagon like reports mentioned.
I do think some of these are true.
I’m not a conspiracy theorist by any means, but the whole AIDS thing may have some truth to it…
I’m with you!
I remember back in the late 90′s when there were college professors and political science authors on C-SPAN and Fox News Channel that were coming forward with their findings and research on this issue. When they showed that all their research pointed to the CIA, they caught flack from a lot of conservative commentators (Rush Limbaugh being the most vocal at the time).
Conspiracies are for those to lazy to research and too cynical to believe the truth if it doesn’t fit into their definition.
my apologies to all of my rational and sane brethren, but [and especially AFTER reading each of the above examples of conspiracy theories], i now believe ALL OF THEM.
I disagree with every commentor that believes conspiracy theories are a result of lazy and cynical thinking. I think it’s quite the opposite! If you’ve actually questioned the authenticity of these theories and still came to the conclusion that “something” might actually be up then folks you’re using your noggin! You have the forethought and vision to know and understand just how corrupted society, humanity and the world we live in is.
And just for the sake of being ignant- there ain’t sh*t “quaint” or “coincindental” about the world we live in. EFF “cats and dogs”. It’s raining lions, tigers and bears in this b*tch! Lol Get it right! Wake up!
You forgot to add the conspiracy theories surrounding the Japan and Haiti earthquake. Some believe that the U.S. caused them with their military experiments near the capitol (of Haiti.)
Amazing how you can have the Holocaust, Manifest Destiny AND the North American slave trade of Africans happen in plain sight, yet doubt what humankind does behind closed doors.
THIS is why it always scares me when the teaching the afore-mention atrocities are poo-poo’d or watered-down. We have people so uninformed as to think humans aren’t capable of such things.
Nnaattaayy, I’ve heard such things too regarding the tragedies in Haiti & Japan and I loathe to admit I believe it. @ Reason, I think that’s such a great point you make about the Holocaust and N. Am. slave trade. Those are just some examples of evil manifesting itself in the world. Behind closed doors? Well, anything is possible. It just makes me hold on to concepts that promote positivity and love that much harder.
