La La Anthony is the basketball wife we WISH would teach the others a thing or about how to carry themselves. The 32-year-old New York native is not only the wife of one of the best ballers in the game, but she’s a bonafide boss. Along with being a wife and mother, Anthony is a business woman, aspiring actress, and producer, and she isn’t slowing down anytime soon.

Because of her achievements, the Afro-Latina beauty grabbed the cover of the April issue of Latina magazine and talked about her marriage, her business aspirations, and what she’s working on next.

Check out an excerpt from Latina.

On managing time apart from ’Melo: “We’ve been together for eight years and I think we’ve lasted this long because we’ve given each other space…but there’s also that time where it can be too much space.”

On her ambitious nature: “I’m never satisfied—career-wise…I’m always looking for the next thing. Why can’t I be a great mom, wife, TV host, actress, producer, have my own reality show and makeup line? The hard part is balancing it all.”

On outrageous reality TV shows and keeping her marriage off camera: “Those shows are very entertaining. I’ve just never been a person to do crazy, outlandish stuff. Whenever you get outside people involved and cameras, you can look at statistics of other relationships— it gets really difficult.”

On rumors of ‘Melo’s supposed secret love child: “There are a lot of athletes who do live a certain life with women everywhere. So you can’t act like it’s the craziest thing you’ve ever heard… But I’m secure in my relationship.”

On dealing with her insecurities: “I’m just like anybody else. Weight goes up and down, sometimes I’m killing myself to be on a crazy diet, sometimes I’m not. As you get more mature, you learn to embrace insecurities and to keep it all in perspective.”

Lasting marriage? Didn’t she just get married?

    • LAD86

Lol. A few years in Hollywood is considered a long time.

I think 20 years+ qualifies as a lasting marriage. Maybe 15. I think I just saw their wedding special last year? Besides, reality TV is almost a sure bet to divorce. It’s only a matter of time.

    • I was thinking the exact same thing. lol. She has not even clocked a 2-yr anniversary yet. wth!

    • Elle Jay

I’m glad her marriage is doing well. They have been together for 8 years. I just wonder what made him propose after 5 or 6 years of doing the wifey/hubby thing? hmmm.

Eh. To each his/her own. Make it last!
