It’s been over a decade since Maia Campbell lit up TV screens each week with LLCoolJ and Debbie Allen on the sitcom In the House, and since then her life has taken a downturn. After troubling video of the actress surfaced, many wondered if her drug habit and mental health issues would not only end her career, but her life. Now, she’s back and looking better than she has in years.
In a recent video, Campbell–daughter of author Bebe Campbell Moore–says she’s ready to get back into acting and has a lot of projects coming up. The young actress also said she’d like to work with Tyler Perry to turn her mother’s book, 72 Hour Hold, loosely based on her struggles with mental health issues, into a film.
While it remins to be seen if Maia will be able to make a complete comeback, it’s great to see her looking so healthy and focused.
