Meagan Good Lands Lead Role In NBC’s ‘Notorious’

Meagan Good is making major moves. The 30-year-old actress recently snagged the leading role in NBC’s upcoming  drama Notorious.

The show–which is still in the pilot phase–is described by Deadline as an “opulent” soap opera and follows detective Joanna Locasto (Good)  as she “returns undercover to the wealthy and troubled Lawson family she grew up in — as the housekeeper’s daughter — to solve the murder of celebutante Vivian Lawson, who was once her closest friend.”

Sounds….interesting.

If the show is picked up, this will be Good’s first time starring in a series, and also signals the fall lineup will include more people of color. Kerry Washington, Cuba Gooding Jr. and Andre Braugher have all been tapped to headline major network shows.

    • I LOVE LOVE LOVE Revenge, but I have to disagree with you on saying that NBC stole the same storyline. There are similarities: an undercover girl, rich family. But the story’s clearly different. Meagan Good’s character is trying to SOLVE a murder, whereas in Revenge, we know, and knew from the beginning, who is behind David Clarke’s arrest and possibly murder.

      I’m just saying.

But if NBC does pick up the show, and it doesn’t get booted after a couple episodes, it may just be a good show. Hopefully they’ll be smart enough not to schedule it at the same time as Revenge, or they will DEFINITELY not get an audience.

Wait, scratch that. Nevermind, SVU comes on at the same time as Revenge (I don’t watch SVU anymore lol)…
