Another problematic thing is that people are quick to want to help without doing their due diligence. One thing that IRKS me is when a helper/savior of Africa gets the geographical location of the country he is helping wrong.-he does! Uganda is NOT in Central Africa, it IS in East Africa! Oh well….whatever. People are willing to listen to his bull, but have not been doing so over all the last years Kony has been in the news…..gimme a damn break!

kony has been power for over 30 years and is on the run, he may not even be in that regien anymore. We all know how the story goes, they come in with military might, occupy, give them a loan for a few million and get trillions in return.

That area of interst has oil and materials that the world needs, so in one hand knoy gets killed and in the other a deal with the devil.

you may be right, in this instance whenever africa is envolved keep an eye on its resources. The biggest hinderence to foreign interest are rebels, once kony is killed, removed from power the ecomonic stability remains the same.

I’m completely disappointed at how viewers have accepted the silencing of African voices once again. Who is invisible? This is a clear example of the EuroAmerican perpetuation of the “useless, weak, incapable AFRICAN”.

The intent of this mission is already questionable. I am in not trying to disregard the brutality that these children are currently experiencing but lets focus on the execution of IC’s KONY 2012.

This is very problematic… the language used within this video not only belittles and patronizes the Ugandan people but it also suggest that the only way out is through the intervention [intrusion] of the west or as they so subtly put it “the GREAT power”

That was great! I really hope that it encourages people to become more educated about what is going on in the world, examine how our life here contributes to the problems and then make moves to try and change things. So many things contributed to the issues that causes a man like Kony to be so powerful and I think that it is important to understand those issues but seeing the video can be a great first step to understanding. Who cares if the guy is white! It doesn’t matter. This will get us thinking. I am a prime pathetic example. A couple of years ago I read this great book ‘First Kill Your Family: Child Soldiers of Uganda and the Lord’s Resistance Army” and I was saddened and I learned a great deal about the conflict but did I make moves to change it??This guy learned and made moves to make a real change and I have to admire that.

Western intervention would see the numbers of dead African children multiply – for more info on how children fare after western intervention see the fate of Iraq’s children.

Nothing to do with me supporting Kony so don’t try and pull that crap.

The best thing “humanitarian” whites can do for Africa is -

stay out of the Place. .

Furthermore black america has it’s own problems to deal with – you know, like the small matter of almost a million black men in jail.

That is a human rights abuse of near genocidal proportions in my book.

You need to deal with that and stop following CIA agents posing as benign humanitarians trying to “save the children”.

Before everyone runs to donate to Invisible Children, you should check this out: http://thedailywh.at/2012/03/07/on-kony-2012-2 . Yes, these things happening to young children in Africa are no laughing matter but, if you’re wanting to help, do so through a cause that actually helps, not to one that only give 31% of their proceeds to the Ugandan government that’s absolutely under scrutiny by the UN for their share of atrocities and violations.

I’m all down for the get down when it comes to this but folks need to their research before heading off to line someone’s pocket so they can spent over $1mil in travel in one year. Just my thoughts.
