Meagan Good Dishes on Blacking Out When Her Fiancé Popped the Question

Meagan Good is having a pretty good year. The actress is not only starring in America’s number one film, Think Like A Man, but she also nabbed the leading role in a new NBC nighttime soap pilot Notorious. But aside from her booming professional life, Good is gearing up to take on one of the biggest roles of her life: wife.

Recently, Ms. Good got engaged to her good friend, and Sony Pictures exec. DeVon Franklin, who also happens to be Seventh Day Adventist Minister. But when Franklin popped the question, the usually gregarious actress was speechless.

“I drew a complete blank. Because I had no idea what was going on and it took me a moment to figure out what was even going on in the moment,” she told Global Grind. “Once I realized what was going on, my whole brain just shut down. It just went into complete shock. I heard half of what he was saying but there was a whole portion of it that was like a black hole of shock and emotion. Wow, this is really happening right now. It’s kind of a surreal moment. It’s like you’re in an alternate universe.”

Although there’s no wedding date set just yet, we wish Good and Franklin a long and prosperous marriage!

  1. She should have gotten a white man with money and good looks.! Her and Nia Long are not too bright. Both could have snagged white male ballers and not have to deal with black dudes and their issues.

    • How do you know he has issues? Do you know him? I understand the impatience with Black males, but indiscriminately flocking to white males like they’re going to solve all your problems is just as ignorant. Don’t think a white man won’t screw you over. Just ask Melba Moore and Tanya Pinkins.

      Character over Color, Always!!!
