The deadline to file your taxes is just around the corner, and although this year’s date (April 17) gives procrastinators two extra days to get it done, I’m sure some of you haven’t even gotten started yet.

No worries. I’ve scoured the ‘net to give you a few tips to help you file your taxes on time and with  the least amount of stress possible.

Compile Your Documents

Whether you’re doing your taxes on your own or paying an accountant, you’ll need to find all of your documents in order to get started. Tax documents come from your job (W-2 or 1099), student and home loan servicers, and from any temporary and freelance jobs you may have worked. Before you get started filling in the numbers make sure you have all of these documents in front of you. It’ll cut down on the time and frustration you’ll spend looking for them later.
