Today the very first issue of Cosmopolitan‘s new magazine, Cosmo Latina, hits newsstands and gracing el primer cover is beautiful Dominican-Puerto Rican actress Zoe Saldana.

Inside, the star of the upcoming film, “The Words,” talks about how her Latin roots influence everything from her strong personality to the way she dresses:

“People think of Latina women as being fiery and fierce, which is usually true. But I think the quality that so many Latinas possess is strength. I’m very proud to have Latin blood.

“Latinas are fearless when it comes to fashion. They aren’t afraid to wear color. It can be the grayest, most wintery day and you’ll see a Puerto Rican mama in a yellow Tweety Bird Dress.”

We love that Cosmo decided to launch this mag with such a strong and fierce Afro-Latina and we hope that trend continues. Just in case their creative team needs a little help deciding who to put on the cover next, here are five proud Afro-Latinas we want to see land a cover.

Not the best picture of Arlenis. The makeup seems off somehow but this is a great list. I wish I could think of anyone to contribute but I didn’t even know YaYa was Brazilian.

Sad to say but I don’t see them acknowledging La La. I could see them using Rosario or Zoe. Good list of women though.
