Prada has started something. Earlier this week, the designer announced it was launching a greatest handbags hits collection of sorts by bringing back it’s most popular purses from 1991 to 2005. Fashionistas jumped for joy at the chance to have these nine bags added to their wardrobe while Fendi was like, let’s get in on that too. Just yesterday, the high-fashion designer announced that they too were going to bring back their classic “it” bag, the baguette. Six of their most popular baguette purses, which were first made popular by Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the City, will be available for a limited time, if you’ve got unlimited funds ($1,000-$3,000). But since this news from Fendi and Prada isn’t too good to be true, we’re thinking it’s only a matter of time before other designer labels start bringing back their old items and then we’ll be in vintage handbag heaven.

There are a couple Louis Vuitton purses we wouldn’t mind having another crack at, not to mention we know there are some classics in the Chanel vault that are calling all of our names. If Fendi and Prada’s relaunches prove successful, these other labels will no doubt follow suit, which is why we should go ahead and get our list together now.

I could care less; i cant afford any of them anyway.

  • Following up on Brandy’s comment, why would any of cocoandcreme’s readers care which designer bag is re-released when major fashion houses haven’t made any attempt to target women of color and let us know that they would love for us to wear their products?. As a topic of discussion, what would you like fashion houses to address to convey that your buying power is valued?
