Beautiful, talented, sophisticated, established, out of the limelight—Kenya Moore is pretty much the antithesis of a real housewife of Atlanta, yet for some reason the former Miss USA seems to be trying her hand at luck, and putting her entire reputation on the line, by joining the cast of the Bravo series.
Rumors about Kenya taking Sheree Whitfield’s place started swarming earlier this week and Kenya has said all but yes, I am taking her spot in an interviewing confirming her new gig with Sister 2 Sister. She told the mag:
“I’ve had an opportunity recently to be on a reality show. I feel like it’s almost like my duty to take the job because it’s the converse of what we’re seeing now.
That’s one way to look at it. Keeping up the mystery a bit, Kenya added: “I can say that it’s an already established franchise. I’m back and forth between Atlanta and L.A….primarily Atlanta. Wink, wink!”
To be fair, reality TV has provided awesome opportunities for some of its stars, but that’s pretty much only the case when it comes to women who wouldn’t be famous otherwise. For whose who have already been in movies or in magazines or won crowns in pageants, reality TV is pretty much the land where reputations and self-respect die and when you think about the rowdy Real Housewives of Atlanta crew, that’s doubly true.
We can already foresee the tension among the talls. Yes, they’ll have strength in numbers but I doubt Nene will take the idea of an attractive fellow actress and model coming in along side her well, especially if she has her side kicks, Cynthia and Marlo, to back her up. If Kenya is down to earth and doesn’t have her nose in the air like a certain She by Sheree designer we once knew then she would probably get along better with Kandi and Phaedra but we have a feeling she falls somewhere in between both worlds and may not get along well with either side.
With taping already started, Kenya’s fate as a housewife has pretty much already been sealed, we’re just hoping she doesn’t become a part of the 99% of people who’s careers tank after they let the cameras in their home. Guess we’ll have to stay tuned to see how it all goes down.
Do you think RHOA is a good look for Kenya?
