Make It Stop: Bobbi Kristina, Cissy, Gary and Pat Houston Team Up For New Reality Show
It’s been three months since Whitney Houston suddenly died in a hotel room in Los Angeles, and since then many have been speculating about what her family will do next. While some wondered if a biopic would make it to the big screen, others thought the Houston family sit-down with Oprah just weeks after the singer’s funeral was a bit too soon. But as word of a possible book by Whitney’s mother Cissy Houston and Bobbi Kris’ role in a sitcom spread, some questioned whether or not the family would have any time to actually grieve.
Well, now we can add a new dimension to this conversation. According to Deadline.com, The Houston Family has signed on to star in a 10-episode reality series tentatively titled “The Houston Chronicles.”
Lifetime, the network who picked up the show, issued more details about the series:
The Houston Family Chronicles follows those closest to the pop music icon as they try to pick up the pieces after her untimely death. Pat Houston, Whitney’s sister-in-law, manager and most trusted confidant, manages the business and estate of the beloved singer and her most prized possession, her daughter Bobbi Kristina. The series will follow Pat and her husband, Gary, Whitney Houston’s brother, as they take on their greatest challenge, supporting and guiding Bobbi Kristina as she faces the world alone, without the one person she relied on the most, her Mother.
A mother to her own teenage daughter, Rayah, Pat understands the difficulty of raising a young woman in a world where social media and peer pressure are the norm. As she tries to guide her own daughter into womanhood, Pat also has the responsibility of raising Bobbi Kristina, who, while trying to move forward with life and make decisions about her future, must also learn to cope with such a devastating loss. With the certainty of a microscopic lens focused on this young woman and her every move, Pat, Gary and their tight-knit group of family and friends are committed to seeing that Bobbi Kristina can grow and experience life unscathed. A true believer in the bond that women share called sisterhood, and a self proclaimed “woman’s woman,” Pat enlists the help of her and Whitney’s inner circle, including Grammy Award winner Dionne Warwick and Gospel legend CeCe Winans, to assist her in such difficult times.
According to Pat Houston, Whitney’s former manager, sister-in-law, and friend, the Houston family is doing to show to help others.
“I have been working with Simmons Shelley over the past few years developing a project suitable for myself and our family,” she said. “The unexpected passing of Whitney certainly affects the direction of the show. However, it is my hope that others will be enlightened as they watch our family heal and move forward.”

So you’re doing a reality show, to ensure that there’s one more lens pointed at her 24/7? I’m sorry, where is the logic in that? Bad idea, in my opinion.
Pat and Bobbi Chriss need the money. Their weaves are still looking like bootleg hair do’s you get in the project’s. They are broke, Pat look like she was busting out of her dress, Bobbi Chriss brashowing dress to tight at the Billboard Awards. Can anyone say NEW CASH COW
I can’t believe they are going to do this. Cissy knows darn well this is not the tea. Cissy comes from a time when people believed in keeping something for yourself. Why is she allowing these young people to sweep her up into their storm of madness???
It all goes back to how you manage your money. Since the “cash cow” is dead, the vampires need another warm body. Sorry to be harsh, but when celebrities die and the family members start talking reality show……the money is almost gone. It’s tacky and disgusting.
This is just a little too soon. I understand people grieve differently lasting for various amounts of time but this just seems wrong, like those closest to her are profiting from her death.
They must need money.
