Meagan Good Tells Life & Style She & Her Fiancée Are Waiting For Their Wedding Night
It’s been a pretty good year for Meagan Good. The 30-year-old actress starred in one of the top comedies of the year (Think Like A Man), grabbed the starring role in a new NBC pilot, Notorious, and after years of courting, she’s gearing up to jump the broom with her beau, Sony Pictures exec DeVon Franklin.
Despite being a super cute couple, and in spite of her video vixen image, Good recently let the folks over Life & Style in on a little secret: she and her beau have yet to get it on.
“Our wedding night will be the first time we’re actually together,” she confessed to the glossy.
While some might be shocked, the fact that the pair hasn’t consummated their relationship makes sense. Franklin is a devout Seventh Day Adventist minister, and although she frequently takes on sexy roles, Good is very religious as well. And the fact that he was willing to wait let her know he was the man for her.
“He was willing to be celibate with me for a year,” she told Life & Style. “He loves God, more than I love God, so I don’t think there’s anything wrong [with him].”
How sweet.
While the couple is still mum about a wedding date, Good says they are already busy planning the ceremony.
“We found the venue, which I’m really excited about, and it’s going to be in Malibu. I know I want to go for a bayou-themed kind of Spanish mosque, a very enchanted-y Twilight feel.”
Sounds lovely.
Could you wait until your wedding night to get it in with your boo?

God married Adam and Eve first then they had kids. Marriage is an institution but nowdays too many people take it as a joke. Now go explain it to all those kids who are killed or left to spend the rest of their young life in the foster care system.
Good jobe Meagan, a great man will nerver force a woman to have sex with him and ladies when you find him please don’t forget the STD’s tests and the homo test.
So nice until the “homo test.” That’s not cool.
haffie is very right.
….Side-eye on the announcement. I think she’s played the loose character so often (i.e. Think Like A Man) she’s scared people will confuse it with real life. If you’re that chaste you don’t have to announce it. That’s private.
That’s so true, I mean that should be between you and your man … NOT you and the world!!!!!!!!!
Totally agree. It’s very TMI. No one wants to know all that. If you want to share your spirituality, that’s great, but I’m not untreated in what you are doing (or not doing) in private. Discretion is classy.
Oh good, am glad am not the only one that thought that was a bit of an over-share.
No you aren’t the only one. I mean good for her but I don’t think telling the public your business is wise.
what’s wrong with you people?
whenever people talk or sing about their very active s*x lives we b!tch and complain about what kind of role models they make and how they are “s*xualizing ” the kids who buy their stuff, but when somebody who has NEVER been in trouble, NEVER had a baby oow , never had h*e rumors tells us that she waited we say it’s too much info?!?
Love Meagan! People are critical of her speaking out but I think that many couples need to hear that waiting is possible and is okay.
agreed
I concur.
We are together six years and I’ll be waiting?! hehehehehehehehehe. NEVER!
I will seduce you and we gon go to Amsterdam, and gerrir onnnnnnnn all night long! RED LIGHT DISTRICT MBAMBY
iQgraphics and Ms.Info, girls this your domain! Your commentary is so NECESSARY.
To each his own girl, but what does she want, a proverbial cookie? I don’t think it is anyone in the publics business….BUT Megan, don’t get mad when after we know yall consummated that the media pays extra attention to the relationship…don’t ask for privacy then..
@Ms. Information – Too true. Give the media an inch about your personal life, especially your sex life, and they take a highway worth of miles.
I was on Jezebel reading an article about Lolo Jones and her Christian values. People were complaining about Lolo publicly proclaiming that she’s saving herself for marriage as “a gift” for her husband and yet gets annoyed when the media asks her about it
As a virgin and a Christian, I obviously don’t have a problem with either Meagan or Lolo being proud or publicly acknowledging themselves as virgins. I wish more of us would do it. Young girls need to see that you can be beautiful, popular and wanted and still remain celibate.
However, I do see a contradictory with Meagan and the roles she picks as a young Christian woman (not so much Think Like A Man though) but then again, doesn’t seem like she wants to be considered a role model
“He was willing to be celibate with me for a year,” she told Life & Style. “He loves God, more than I love God, so I don’t think there’s anything wrong [with him].”
Ummm… Shouldn’t he be waiting WITH her and not ON her? He’s a practicing minister, right??? O_o
I totally agree with you! and I thought I was the only who got this: “Ummm… Shouldn’t he be waiting WITH her and not ON her? He’s a practicing minister, right??? O_o” I would hope that’s what she meant to say.
