What do you mean by them (the white female characters) being attractive? What do you find attractive about them, specifically? All of the characters they chose for the characters were suitable for the roles. Focus on the talent.

In case the larger-sized font (or the article for that matter) was not read, they chose her because she was the best fit for the character. Michonne is an attractive Zimbabwean-American just as Sarah Wayne Callies is an attractive European-American. Beauty comes in all phenotypes.

I absolutely LUV The Walking Dead. One of the things I like the most about the series, other than the storyline and acting, is the ethnic diversity of their cast. What I like about THAT is that the minorities on the show are not stereotyped. When it all comes down to it, it’s about sticking together to survive, regardless of ethnicity. Can’t wait for Season 3 (I didn’t know Michonne was going to be on there until I read it in Essence). I was wondering who that figure was with those two zombies during the season 2 finale…

I get what you are saying. She does look kind of rough in that photo. If you look up the actress playing her however she is actually quite pretty. That is a wig actually. The actress sports very short natural hair which flatters her much more than the wig. Its a really bad dread wig which doesnt do her any favours. I think she would look much better without the wig but the character in the comic has locs. So I guess they are just trying to keep it consistent.

maybe it was just a bad picture?!?! idk she just kinda looks like whoopi goldberg in that photo.

okay some people are taking things overboard. nobody said ANYTHING about light skin,mixed race,and european features. unless that’s what YOU think attractive is. hmm?? i mean a woman that loos like meagan good or gabrielle union or angela bassett or yaya decosta. none of them are light skinned.lol

it’s just that they always seem to downplay black women’s beauty and make non black women look prettier when in the same movie/tv show. and those talking about “it’s post apocalyptic they arent in makeup blah blah” TRUE but the female characters there don’t have hair armpits,eyebrows,and legs and they have new clothes every few episodes.lol i bet if the show was about all black survivors then suddenly it’ll be accurate -_-

If people don’t find her attractive then they just don’t it is what it is folks. Personally I can’t wait for her and this character I am not familiar with the comic books yet but from what I saw of the finale my interest is piqued to the 10th degree. And to me she doesn’t look unattractive, I don’t see ugly here not her best picture true but still far from ugly but hey different strokes I guess…shrugs

she is the best character in the comic books that i’ve read so far.. i’m up to 93.. she teaches them a lot and she is badass in the comic.. she looks like the character in the comic but if u see her as the woman she is, you will see just how gorgeous she is..

i’m embarrassed by some of these comments.. she’s an unattractive black chick?? y cause she’s not a lighter black?? or is it cause she don’t have long curly weave down her back??

if u read the comics, u would know she is a better character then the rest..
