Indeed many traditional regions had a very clear sense of good and evil. Unfortunately, most of the information was lost with the advent of Christianity because all that came before it was deemed evil. It’s hard to know the motivation behind what they did and what it all means, so you do have to be cautious.

This is not limited to African religions only, other world religions also had a sense that there was a spiritual realm.

@TypicalBlackWoman, Actually I think, advances in science and technology have made people feel more invincible or less conscious that there is evil in the world.

Based on the traditional religion I am familiar with (Igbo) there is a sense of good and evil and just like all religions – there are some who use it for good or bad.
Personally, I am a Christian but I think that the advent of Christianity, as practiced by colonialists made us less afraid of the consequences of evil.

I’m very curious about the Rastafari faith. I was going to convert, out of curiosity last November.

I am also very interested in African vodoo religions, BUT I’m too afraid to even attempt. The devil is real ya’ll!
