I’m blessed to say that I have two wonderful fathers in my life.

I’m definitely a Daddy’s girl and my mom reminds me constantly that I’m the apple of my daddy’s eye. I honestly believe my daddy is one of the kindest, happiest men I’ve ever known. All of my friends agree. He has set an incredible example for me and for my brother by being strong, but flexible; loving and affectionate, but firm; and responsible and focused, but fun. I am blessed to have him as my father.

My second father is my father-in-law. He, a similarly situated figurehead in my husbands family, gave my husband and his younger brother what I think is the most amazing fatherly advice. Since my husband was a child, his father told him, “the best thing you can ever do for your children is to be good to their mother.” What an awesome lesson for a man to teach his sons!

Here’s to great fathers… the world needs more of them.

I have a very close bond with my dad. As I get older I find myself even confiding to my dad about my relationships with the opposite sex. My dad is very supportive of my dreams, and always encourages me to keep GOD first and be the best in all of my endeavors. Love that guy! :)

I must say, I’m tearing up reading all these great posts!

I LOVE my daddy. Everyone makes fun of me because the first thing I get to yelling in a fight with a man is: “I don’t need you; my Daddy loves me more than you, anyway!” He taught me how to drive, how to balance my check book and not to be afraid of moving forward. He encouraged me to leave Louisiana to head to Boston to college and when I told him I was moving to LA, he was right there to help me pack. I’m so proud of my Daddy and I hope he’s so proud of me.

I’m extremely blessed to have such a great and loving Dad. He may not be perfect (nobody is!) but he’s always in my corner. He taught me how to ride a bike, to drive, and there are certain things that I can tell him that I wouldn’t express to my mother. I admire how he strives to do the best for me since he didn’t know his own father, for that he always puts my needs before his own. Just love him to bits.

That’s soo great that u all have great dads. Wish I had been so lucky. I believe that a woman having had a great dad really sets her up nice in life. Be thankful to be so blessed!!!

im my daddy’s youngest daughter…. and i’ll admit sometimes that nicca gets on my nerves, but I love em !
we use to go fishing all the time, and he’s always bringing me and brother food home from when he’d come home late.

Yes I am. I love both my parents, but I’m closest to my father.
I’m always seeking his advice, he’s always encouraged me to go for my dreams, he’s taught me a lot of important life lessons, his protectiveness of me lets me know that I’m loved by him, he has an awesome sense of humor and most of all, he has always been there for me.

My parents had separated for a short while, but he never left the lives of my siblings and I. No matter the issues he had with my mother, he was always there. He made a great effort to ensure that my siblings and I grew up in a safe environment reminding us of the benefits we had. He’s not perfect, but he’s awesome enough for me and I love him for that.

Love the disclaimer by the way. Shout out to all the great fathers! and great Haitian fathers :-)

My father is the most important man in my life. I just love the guy, and I value that we’ve created a relationship built off of mutual respect. From money questions, relationship inquiries, and career moves…I know I can count on his honest and informed feedback and advice.

100% daddy’s girl here. My dad is my absolute everything. He is the first I call when something goes down, good or bad. The article’s mention of fathers at graduation brought back some good memories. The day before graduation my dad showed up at my apartment to load my belongings in the car. When he opened the door, he quickly realized I had not even started packing. My mom and my older brother were pissed. They started going in about how this and that should have been done and blah blah. My dad on the other hand, took out his wallet, gave me some money, told my brother to shut up and get packing and demanded that I go out and enjoy my last moments of college. When I got back home everything was done and my brother and mother didn’t say a word. Clearly my dad set them straight!
