A lot of women ARE fighting to be able to fight on the front line and a lot of men and women are against drafting.

“lets stop promoting that in case of an emergency save women first and leave men to die or save men last. Lets stop teaching our young men that they should risk their lives and die protecting a woman if necessary.”
People talk about it but we all know that its rarely practiced.
Fathers are allowed to take “their” child to get a paternity test. If you want to stand out on the streets and hand out fliers to men with kids that read “Men. Is that really your child?” Then go ahead. I’m not going to stop you.

If you want equality as you so claim then you’re going have to work for it. You’re also going to need some logic and rational thought in your arguments. Saying “I want equality,” and then saying that you’re going to continue to “holler” at women is counter productive. You’re taking a few bad experiences to judge whether you think that women deserve the same amount of respect as men.

I want equality between the genders, but lets not stop at street harassment. Lets work to get women to sign up for selective services, and for women to fight on the front lines of wars, im all for equality. lets stop promoting that in case of an emergency save women first and leave men to die or save men last. Lets stop teaching our young men that they should risk their lives and die protecting a woman if necessary. Lets make paternity testing mandatory, so that no man will be forced to care for a child that is biologically not his unknowingly. I want equality. Now serously what advances do I have as a man , that I can holler at a woman in the street. women can do the same damn thing to me and have done so.

Exactly. Same with teaching and training girls/women not to be raped, but not telling boys and men not to rape. Every time I hear/read of a catcalling horror story, or experience that mess on my own, I have to wonder who or what taught taught these men that this is how you address women and girls. They really think they’re flattering us?

I love what GGE is doing. I especially like the last suggestion. We always teach girls how to defend themselves but we don’t hear enough about how to teach boys to respect girls in the first place.

I’ve been experiencing street harassment for thirteen years now. It hasn’t gotten any better now that I am older (26) because I still look like a teenager. I’ve always viewed it as sexual harassment and the older I get, the more disgusted I become with it.
