Man what? I’m sorry but no no no stop. Yes, he was excessively beaten…that was tragic. But to say that a dude doped up on PCP…had several accounts of domestic violence, several run ins with the law is our Rosa Parks….Hip Hop’s Father. Don’t romancitze this brother’s image really. He was a kat whose experince sparked a change and major event in history…he didn’t led us to nothing and did nothing after he got his money for the wrong doings.

We’re sad to see another black man fall before his time. May the angels bring him blah blah blah let the church say amen. Ya’ll tripping to basically compare this man to MLK, Malcolm X and all the other black influences that actually did something with their platform and 15mins to better our race. All he did was coin a phrase that everyone uses as a joke….sad to hear the news but let’s not fabricate.

When you get an abusive ass whipping from the cops like that how can you come back from that?

May Rodney’s soul finally rest in peace. God used him to put a spotlight on the systemic corruption and abuse of law enforcement which sadly continues to this day. It exposed the idea that cops are more than a few bad apples in the bunch. The abuse in the law enforcement system is SYSTEMIC and based on the criminalization of brown people.

In other words in order for me to feel SUPERIOR I have to prove that you are inferior. Period.

I agree with everyone’s comments about the title of the article being misleading and the correlations to Rosa Parks being a stretch.

My issue is that I wish the writer would have stated earlier in his article that Rodney King died. This is the first I’ve heard of this since it happened yesterday. And it didn’t even dawn on me until I got to the end of the article.
