Mainstream Hollywood sucks (simply put). If your name isn’t Adam Sandler, Jonah Hill or Andy Samberg, mainstream Hollywood doesn’t have time for you. These boys are one trick ponies who’s tricks are getting tired.

Give us some variety please. Mix things up. Can we see some different races on the big screen please (in more realistic roles- many of us have an education and earn a decent living- must to your suprise, I’m sure, because you know, you’d have to have some of us as friends to know this)?

Until mainstream Hollywood shows us some variety, I’m sticking to my indie and foreign films (thank you very much). Long live Netflix and Sundance.

So… clarification the statement “Simply, the report warned that more black women were going on AFDC even though black male unemployment was decreasing”.

I think that statement over simplifies the report greatly and the article you posted. Yes, the report did highlight the inverted trend among black male unemployment (decreasing) and black women on AFDC (increasing). However, Moynihan’s report and this article highlights the inequality between differing family structures greatly.

Nothing new here we Hollywood has a crappy interpretation on single black women so naturally their not going to do jack to put out positive black motherhood. Lets be real unless its a sterotype Hollywood is not trying to potray blacks as a diverse group. We are all either A or B forget that black people can be CDEFGHIJK. Its either crack junkie hooker maid/mammy/neckrollin/dropout felon/multiple baby daddy havin baby mamas, or uptight cant get a man cuz/we want to compete with the guys/overeduated too high standards havin/no fun having snobs. Meanwhile whites can have themselves portrayed in every light known to man and even a pyscho junkie hooker bum killer manless and they still manage to come out smelling like roses.
