I don’t see the big deal, Gwyneth didn’t mean it in a derogatory manner. The real problem is how common such an ignorant word has become. A lot of these rappers and blacks have made the word fairly normal and acceptable. Words cannot be limited to one group. If blacks use the word and broadcast it for all to hear, then others will use it as well.

Nas gives Gwyneth a pass and people say “black people have spoken” It’s so annoying that low class rappers decide what “acting black” is and what is acceptable to black people. A pass? Imagine that there were something that these rappers could make billions of dollars with that would give all other black people something like herpes. What if they could make all this money and never get caught. The creators would say “Well herpes isn’t too bad, and you would make loads of money.” Do you think they would do it? I know they would.

To me, they are already doing something of the sort. They release music that has a negative influence on our kids. They support a culture that has brought nothing but pain to our communities all for the mighty dollar.

It’s crazy how the black community sticks up for these people who would do just about anything short of selling us back into slavery to make a dollar.

Not defending either Imus or Paltrow (in fact I think both were wrong), but Don Imus’ use of nappy headed hoes was heard over a live broadcast, for which he gets paid, was targeted to a rather un-deserving (sp?) group of people, and for which advertisers can choose to remove support from. In Paltrow’s case, she was conditioned by the kind of Black people she chooses to associate herself with, a group that says using the N word is okay for either races. Her outlet was a social media platform and while subject to public critique, was a comment on a song and not on an innocent group of people.

It both cases was and is only a matter of time before people forget and move on to the next offensive thing.

Its happening again. People are making extraordinary claims about what black men think of white and black women. I wish Pew would do an official survey and lay down the final word on the issue once and for all. I’d bet a lot of money that most black men prefer black women, including black women that have distinctive African features.

I know 15 to 20 black men dating or married to a woman. These are men in PhD programs or men with careers living in very diverse communities yet none of their wives/girlfriends are white, one has an Asian girlfriend, one has a Arabic girlfriend, and other 14 to 18 have black wives/girlfriends. “why do black people cry over the word “nigga” and say it is offensive to their ancestors but then use is in every other word in their sentence?”
