Open Thread: Erykah Badu & The Flaming Lips Team Up for a NSFW Vid – Are You Feeling It?

Erykah Badu is no stranger to controversy. Her personal life has been fodder for blogs and Twitter timelines for years, and her controversial video for Window Seat was both praised and lambasted by critics and fans. But that was just child’s play compared to her latest effort, The First Time I Ever Saw Your Face, with the Flaming Lips.
The video shows a naked Badu singing while writing in the bathtub and then switches to another woman, Nayrok (Badu’s sister), completely and exposed naked and covered in glitter, blood, and something that looks a whole lot like sperm.
While I have my thoughts on the video…I’ll leave the commentary up to you guys.
